Gods are Aliens?

I was recently reading a book indicating that Gods could have been aliens from other planets. I am a strong believer in God. So I thought I will read this book and see if it challenges my faith.  A lot of interesting observations were made by the author. We might think it’s possible, aliens with 10 heads, 3 eyes, 4 hands etc having fancy spaceships (vahanas) and arrows having the power to bring rains, shoot fire etc. It might be a possibility that they were aliens from different lands, who lived, thrived with humans and then left to their distant lands, thus ending the era (yuga). But even if this is proved, will it shake our faith. Will we stop believing in God, in miracles, in prayers? I don’t think so. There will be lakhs and lakhs of people who have just prayed for something impossible to happen and it happens, how do the aliens hear our prayers?
And why don’t they visit now – Gods (or aliens, if you have bought the idea)? What happened to them? I always wonder, when there was one Ravana and one Kamsa, God incarnated to destroy them. But now when you hear of murder, theft, and rape etc every day, every other person is a Ravana, where is God, Why doesn’t he destroy them. But then I think to myself, if God were to incarnate in all his golden glory now in this age, how many will believe that it’s actually him. People will probably mock that someone from a drama company is claiming to be God. If a saint claims himself to be a messenger of God, who will believe, the media will hunt for stories to defame him. He might not be messenger of God but at least we can respect him for his contribution to the society, which definitely God would have done if he had a chance to visit India.
The problem with us is, we believe in God, but we don’t believe in his existence on earth. He might not be born on earth as an Avatar and destroy evil, but at this day and age, we will not want him to do so and we don’t believe he will do so. We just believe that the evil will be punished sometime by God (perhaps, when he meets him). God made man as an image of himself, so that he can delegate his duties to us and we would help him in making earth a better place to live. Why don’t we do our bit, why should we depend on Him for all good things to happen! Think about it!
